CABBAGE WITH MEAT

1/2 cabbage -- chopped
1 lb beef -- or lamb 500gr
1 onion -- chopped
1 carrot -- chopped
2 lg mushrooms -- chopped
1 can tomatoes -- stewed
1 tbsp splenda
1 tsp hot red chili peppers -- paste
1/4 cup red wine
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cups water
salt and pepper -- to taste
Cut the meat pieces against the grain into thin slices. Saute chopped onions, carrots, mushrooms with meat. Add wine, red pepper paste, salt and pepper, water and boil until meat is tender about 45 minutes on medium heat. Add chopped cabbage and splenda. Cover and cook until cabbage is soft about 20 minutes.
