-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/2 kg chicken breast, no skin, no bone, R-T-C -- 1lb or pork or beef
4 oz coconut cream -- 125gr
1/2 cup water
1 tsp turmeric -- powder
1/2 tsp Curry Powder -- Ayam
Bamboo Skewers 1 pkt
Chicken, beef or prawn satays are a quick and easy snack, ideal for barbecues and popular with kids. The Thai satay is unique due to the flavours of lemon grass and tamarind in the sauce.
Method:
1. Combine the coconut cream, water, salt, tumeric and curry powders and marinate the chicken or meat strips in the mixture for an hour or so.
2. Thread the chicken or meat onto bamboo skewers which have been soaked in water for 30 minutes (this prevents them burning when the satays are being grilled).
3. Grill the skewered chicken or meat for 5 minutes on both sides on a barbecue or under a grille and serve hot, accompanied by satay sauce.
