Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

4 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp splenda
3 tbsp cucumber -- coarsely chopped
2 shallots -- chopped
2 chili peppers -- or 3 thin sliced.
Combine the ingredients, and leave to stand overnight.
Each diner should have a small bowl of nam jim and a small bowl of a jad.
However the satay themselves are normally served "communally".
