1 can salmon -- (16 oz) 454g
1 can stewed tomatoes -- (16 oz) 454g
drained well
1/2 cup chopped chives
- HONOLULU DIP-
1 tbsp mustard powder -- mix with 1tsp water
then mix in slowly:
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp splenda
Whip together and chill.
Hookupu means "special gift", and this recipe is just that. If you can find it, substitute 1 lb rinsed and soaked salted king salmon for the canned salmon. If you can't find it, then this recipe is a special gift for when you're craving Lomi Salmon! (lomi means "massaged".)
Drain salmon and remove bones, breaking salmon gently apart with your fingers. Add the tomatoes and crush them in your fingers into smaller pieces. Serve
with chives and Hawaiian dipping sauce on the side. Traditionally eaten with poi, but your fingers will do, lol!
