6 oysters
3 slices bacon -- streaky
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp chopped parsley

Oysters are a traditional part of the English heritage and although expensive to purchase today they were once considered 'a poor man's food'. Try this quick to prepare dish for special occasions.
Clean the beards from the oysters and sprinkle with the freshly ground pepper. Cut each bacon slice in half and run the blade of the knife along each slice to stretch it a little. Roll the oyster in the bacon and secure with a cocktail stick.
Fry the oysters for about 2-3 minutes in the butter, turning regularly. Do not allow to overcook. Place on a serving plate prepared with shredded lettuce. Garnish with the chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
