Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
10 slices bacon
2 pkg cut green beans -- (16 ounce)
1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms -- 500gr
3/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 jar processed cheese sauce -- (16 ounce)
Cheese and bacon liven up plain green beans. This dish can be served immediately after preparing, but I often refrigerate it overnight to let the flavors blend together, then reheat it in a 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until heated through.
1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
Drain, crumble and set aside. Reserve 1/4 cup of bacon drippings in the skillet.
2. Cook green beans as directed on package; drain well.
3. Place mushrooms and onion into the skillet with the reserved bacon drippings. Cook and stir the vegetables over medium-high heat for 10 minutes; drain. Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon for topping. Combine remaining bacon with hot cooked green beans and pepper; mix lightly. Spoon mixture into a 2 quart serving dish.
4. Heat the process cheese spread as directed on package. Pour melted sauce over the green bean mixture. Sprinkle with reserved bacon and serve.
