CABBAGE AND HAM SOUP

3 tbsps butter
2 tbsps finely chopped celery
1/4 c finely chopped onion
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 can chicken broth -- (400g - 14 oz.)
1/2 lb cooked ham -- 250g diced
1/2 tsp crumbled bay leaf
1 cup finely shredded cabbage
Sour cream

Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a 2 litre - 2-quart pan over medium heat
Add celery, onion, and parsley and cook until limp.
Stir in flour. Add broth and cook,stirring, until bubbly.
Add ham, bay leaf, cabbage, and remaining 1 tablespoon butter
Cook until ham is heated through and cabbage is limp.
Spoon sour cream into individual portions.
