12 Oysters -- drained
1 tbsp Onion -- chopped
1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup water -- mix with cream
1 1/2 tbsp Shortening
2 tbsp Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1 dash Pepper
1/4 tsp Celery salt -- grated
1/4 cup parmesan cheese -- grated
1 tsp Parsley -- chopped
1 dash Paprika

Combine oysters, onion, and 1/2 cup cream/water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Melt shortening and blend in flour, salt, pepper and celery salt. Add remaining 1/2 cup milk and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add Parmesan cheese and parsley. Combine cheese sauce with oyster mixture and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot on lettuce bed and sprinkle paprika over each serving.
