HOT LEMON DIP WITH CHIPOLATAS

1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce
6 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
4 cups chicken stock -- use a stock cube
500 g sausage -- chipolata 1lb
4 tbsp butter
1 cl garlic -- crushed
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp splenda
1/4 tsp salt
freshly ground black pepper
Melt butter in a heavy-based saucepan over a medium heat, add garlic and stir in the flour and cook gently for a few minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes. Serve hot as a dip with hot chipolata sausages. Serves 8-16 depending on whether other savories are served.
Note: Chipolata sausages are small, thin sausages.
