CHOCOLATE EGGNOG

4 large eggs -- separated
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup splenda
2 cups half and half -- 50% cream-water
1/4 cup rum
ground nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish
In a small bowl, using an electric mixer on high, beat egg yolks until foamy.
In a medium saucepan, over low heat, blend the cocoa, 1/4 cup of the splenda, the half and half, and the beaten egg yolks.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from heat and chill 30 minutes.
In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer on high, beat the egg whites and the remaining splenda until stiff peaks form.
Fold in 3 tablespoons of the cooled cocoa mixture and the rum.
Fold the egg white mixture back into the cocoa mixture.
Pour into mugs, sprinkle with ground nutmeg or cinnamon, and serve.
